To my best friend D’Arcy as he moves beyond the physical world and onto a better place where he can be free,

I have loved you since 1981 my friend.  I have watched in awe as you discovered your power and place as a strong, bold, grateful, and outrageous man.  You have travelled the world.  You have learned, lost, and loved.  You have consistently been my problem solver, and my voice of reason when I could not be that person for myself. 

You will leave this world a changed place, a better place.  I don’t know where you are going but you will go with grace and dignity and control.  I hope you see the others that we have loved and lost, and I hope that you will be waiting there for me. 

Safe travels my friend.  I will grieve when you go, but I will forever hold you in my heart.  I will keep my memories of you close, and I will see you again.
