The P’Arty: D’Arcy’s Wishes

If you are experiencing sadness it is often because that sadness is connected to love, joy, and friendship: something of value and purpose. In essence, sadness is a small piece of the greater puzzle we know as love. The P’Arty is our time to focus on all of the other pieces of the puzzle that he embedded within us during his lifetime. Each of us has a piece of that puzzle and we will connect those pieces at the P’Arty. Plus, there will be food, music, and laughter - all things that can help bring some light during this difficult time. So - put on your nautical shirt and dancing shoes. It’s time to P’Arty!
D’Arcy’s wishes were to host a P’Arty for all his friends and family instead of a service. He wanted everyone to gather to celebrate life. The P’Arty is an opportunity to honor and remember the good times while also acknowledging the love that still surrounds us. D’Arcy’s wishes made it clear that he wanted us to focus on the beauty of life, family, friends, memories, and all the moments that he shared with us during his lifetime. He always believed that sadness co-existed with joy. It was not a stand alone emotion void of meaning or purpose.

D’Arcy Blooms
In memory of D’Arcy and his remarkable life, we are creating a Memorial Garden that embodies his love for all things and serves as a lasting tribute to his legacy. This garden will provide a serene setting for reflection, where we can pay homage to D’Arcy's memory, express our profound love and respect for him, and seek solace in the beauty of nature, just as he did. The family cottage by the lake is the perfect location to create this meaningful space as it held a special place in D’Arcy’s heart, and it captures the essence of D’Arcy’s deep connection to water.
Let us unite as family and friends to cultivate a colourful garden that embodies the peace, joy, and fulfillment D’Arcy found in the embrace of water and beauty throughout his life.
We kindly invite you to contribute a flower or plant to bloom and thrive in D’Arcy's Garden.
Food
P’Arty food (pizza, charcuterie, party snacks, etc.) will be available all throughout the P’Arty, though we recommend that folks enjoy a meal before arriving.
Beverages
Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be available throughout the P’Arty at multiple stations. Please consume libations responsibly to ensure a fun and safe P’Arty for all.
Travel and Special Needs
Please contact a member of the P’Arty Committee (Contact) if you require assistance with your travel and/or attending the P’Arty. If you are driving to the P’Arty, please remember to drink responsibly and/or arrange transportation from the cottage to your lodging after the P’Arty. You may contact us if you have questions or require assistance.
Parking
Parking will be available near the cottage, though we encourage local attendees to coordinate car pool to help minimize parking congestion.
